Podcast Goodness: LIVE FROM SXSW, IT'S UFOS!

Charles Bryant

Hey there, SYSK Army! This week we released our first ever LIVE podcast, and let me tell you it was a lot of fun. A few weeks ago, as many of you know, we (including Jeri) traveled to Austin, Texas for their awesome and popular South By Southwest (SXSW) interactive festival. We were invited to podcast live at the historic, possibly haunted, and definitely awesome Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin. This place was really lovely and it was a real treat and honor to be on the bill.

ins and outs of UFOs, from sightings and hoaxes, to cattle mutilations and crop circles. Of course, this is a rich topic so it was something of an overview, but we thought we did right by it.

We decided to do a show on UFOs because it's a fun topic for a live audience and for some reason Austin just kind of inspired it. We covered all of the ins and outs of UFOs, from sightings and hoaxes, to cattle mutilations and crop circles. Of course, this is a rich topic so it was something of an overview, but we thought we did right by it.

We were also able to do our first ever live poll, and take some unwarranted potshots at the states of North Dakota and California. Turns out that California has had the most UFO sightings of all the states and North Dakota the least. Josh surmised that it was because people in North Dakota are too depressed to look up. Good fun, I tell you. I think we did a pretty good job for a first stab a live recording, but let's just say that we definitely appreciated the magic that Jeri provides in the editing room!

for taking such awesome photos.

By the way, the "Rob" that I mentioned several times in the show is a friend we work with who was in the audience. We want to say thanks to everyone who came and that we're hoping next year to do something at SXSW that doesn't require a badge. That way the general public at large can come out and see us do our thing live. And thanks also to Kelly Jones for taking such awesome photos.
